1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Weebench is a neighbourhood social platform that helps people discover neighbours, chat, organise local events and trade locally ("the Service"). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Service via our website and apps.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use Weebench.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Please provide accurate information, including your postcode, which we use to show you relevant neighbours, events and listings nearby.

You may sign in with a password, a Google account, or both. You can request account deletion at any time via Support. We may retain certain information where required by law or for fraud prevention, security or accounting purposes.

3. Your content and conduct

You retain ownership of the content you post, including messages, listings, events, profile details and images. By posting content, you grant Weebench a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and distribute it as necessary to operate, improve and promote the Service.

You must not post content that is illegal, misleading, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory or infringes anyone else’s rights. You must not use the Service to spam, scam, impersonate others, scrape user data, send unsolicited advertising or interfere with the operation of the Service.

Listings must not advertise illegal goods or services, stolen property, counterfeit items, weapons, controlled substances or anything else prohibited by applicable law.

We may remove, restrict or refuse to publish content, or suspend or terminate accounts, where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, comply with the law, investigate misuse, maintain the Service or enforce these Terms.

4. Marketplace, events and neighbour interactions

Listings, events and requests are created by users. Weebench is not a party to any sale, trade, fundraising or arrangement between neighbours, and we do not vet, guarantee or insure items, services, organisers or attendees.

Meet safely, inspect items before paying and use your own judgement when buying, selling, hiring or helping neighbours. Any dispute arising from a trade, event or other interaction is solely between the participants.

5. Tokens, top-ups and kudos

Tokens are Weebench’s internal virtual currency. They have no cash value, are not redeemable for money and are non-refundable except where required by law.

Payments for token top-ups are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details. The price and currency shown at checkout apply.

Tokens can be sent to other users as kudos. Stars shown on a profile reflect appreciation received from other neighbours and cannot be purchased directly.

We may change token pricing or available plans at any time. Changes will not affect tokens already in your wallet.

We may reverse or remove tokens obtained through fraud, payment reversals, technical errors or abuse.

6. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

On termination, unused tokens are forfeited unless applicable law requires otherwise.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

Although we may moderate content, we are not obliged to monitor all activity and cannot guarantee that objectionable content will be removed immediately.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Weebench excludes warranties and is not liable for indirect losses or for losses arising from interactions between users.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, nor does it affect your statutory consumer rights.

8. Privacy

We process personal data, including your email address, postcode and profile information, to operate the Service in accordance with applicable UK and EU data protection laws.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, maintain secure sessions and protect the Service. We do not use these cookies for advertising or analytics.

9. Intellectual property

Except for content posted by users, all rights in the Weebench Service, including its software, branding, logos, design and other intellectual property, belong to Weebench or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of any part of the Service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will publish the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
